- 2-D Teleidoscope: 2-D Teleidoscope is written by an English teacher living in Japan. The blog presents mini-essays about Japanese culture, and tries to discuss anime in relation to other aspects of pop culture.
- Why we Love It: This author takes the reader to a different place than many other anime blogs, taking an academic approach to the discussion. Many posts delve into Japanese history and sociology in relation to modern anime subjects.

- Haiku Anime Review: The author is a lifetime anime fan who writes about anime series in haiku, a form of ancient Japanese poetry.
- Why we Love It: This blog is unique in that each review is written in haiku style, in three lines of five, seven and five syllables. Though reviews are suprisingly short, they still convey the author's message. Bravo for creativity!

- Manga Xanadu: This author presents technology, news and reviews of manga, and shares information to help parents learn about manga.
- Why we Love It: This blog is a great introduction for readers who are new to manga. The Parent's Guide includes a list of "terms you should know" and an explanation of manga age ratings.

- Meaty Anime Blog: This blog covers anime series. The author enjoys covering series that are less common but enjoyable.
- Why we Love It: We love this blog because the author digs deep into series that other bloggers don't even touch.

- Ogiue Maniax: The author is an artist and writer who, through this blog, explores the influence of of anime and manga in society and culture.
