Photojournalism is the art of telling stories with pictures. We've long found great examples of photojournalism in newspapers and magazines, but now we can find them on the web too in photo blogs.
We've scoured the web looking for the best photojournalism blogs out there and we found these 47 that stand out from the rest. We've picked out favorite five, but all of them have fantastic art and tell compelling stories, so check them out and get inspired.

- 12 Months (or More) in the Middle Kingdom: This British/Australian cultural studies teacher documents his life in China by taking beautiful photos of
commonplace subjects.
- Why we Love It: This photographer has an eye for capturing raw moments. He also uses titles for his posts to highlight themes in his work.

- davidrizzi photoblog: Italian photographer David Rizzi posts amazing photos of Africa and Asia here.
- Why we Love It: Rizzi has been working with non-profits for seven years in developing countries. His images depict what he sees through his workâsometimes heartwarming, sometimes heart-wrenching, always insightful.

- Desolate Metropolis: Dave takes unreal photos of urban buildings, making them look completely bleak, abandoned, and desolate, as the blog suggests.
- Why we Love It: This blog makes the top five because this photographer acts as a magician, giving inanimate objects a past, a voice, and feelings. Several buildings depicted seem to be experiencing a haunting and intense agony that stays with the viewer.

- Perspective Images: Will Williams maintains this photoblog with the intent of "visually preserving everything that comes within range." His photos are haunting and surreal.
- Why we Love It: Williams style and technique set him apart. There's really not much we can say except check them out and see for yourself.

- Scarlett Lion: Scarlett Lion has many photos of Africa, with a recent focus on Liberia. She also posts videos of different aspects of life there.
- Why we Love It: This photoblog makes the top five because several of her photos come with historical anecdotes and tidbits of information, and the viewer feels that she seeks to educate through her photos.

- Alex Slitz Photo Journal: Alex, a photographer for a Kentucky newspaper, exhibits his photo assignments on his personal blog.
Most photos are of local sports, ranging from school-age children to professional players. - Asian Photography Blog: This 3-year-old blog is maintained by Singapore-based photographer Yaohong. His blog features photographers from all over Asia in order to promote photography in this region.
- Asian Ramblings Asian Ramblings posts interesting stories of life in China along with a high-quality photo.
- Bluejake: Brooklyn photographer Jake Dobkin has years worth of photos on Bluejake. His focus is on city landscapes.

- Cape Town Daily Photo: This blog is maintained by South African couple Paul and Kerry-Anne. It was inspired by Paris Daily Photo and has been maintained since 2007. You can expect to find a different shot taken in Cape Town every day.
- chromasia.com: The photographer of chromasia takes stunning portraits in black-and-white as well as brilliant color. All of his photos come with an in-depth story, allowing the reader to imagine themselves in the scene with his subject.
- Chunky Soup: Karma Brown uses the street and the city as inspiration for his photos. The black-and-white photos have a particularly vintage look to them.
- The Clandestine Manifesto: This blog is an outlet for this photographer to document his daily life in photos. He also maintains several other websites for other types of photos.

- Dartmoor & Beyond: Miles Wolstenholme uses his blog to showcase the natural beauty of Dartmoor and Devon in England.
- Dodge and Burn Blog: This blog is maintained by a grad student who goes in depth about the techniques he used to take each photo. He also reviews photography-related gadgets and software.
- Ertugrul Kilic Photography: Ertugrul Kilic documents his resident country Suriname with this great photo blog.
- Escapism: Jason Kotecha, based in Dubai, takes surreal photos that look more like Dail paintings then photos. He has recently done a shoot with the photographer of chromasia.com.

- Verve Photo: Verve Photo is a compilation of work by different photographers. Each photo is accompanied with a short biography of the photographer as well as a synopsis of the photograph.
- Warm Pears: Gina is a likeable American expat living in Italy who takes photos of her new surroundings to share her experiences with her loved ones.
